Choice #1  Full Day Trip:

     Picture yourself gliding along scenic forest trails and exploring secluded lakes. The rugged, quiet, beauty of Ontario's wilderness is something to behold. This adventure, our most popular for all ages, carries you on routes specifically designed for your interests and the weather conditions, offering you the best of scenery and dog sledding. Enjoy a delicious, hot lunch by a warm fire as you bask in the beauty surrounding you. Then head back to your cabin at Agimac River Outfitters or the lodge of your choice in Ignace for the night. This fully guided trip is approximately four to five hours in length which includes orientation with complete instructions on how to maneuver your sled, what commands to give the dogs and safety precautions. Actual time on the sled is about two and a half hours. No previous experience is necessary. John and Joanna have had over fifteen years experience in dog sledding and especially enjoy giving each of our guests individual attention and care. They want to help you create a memory that will last a lifetime.

Full day - $165/adult; one to two people to a sled
$150/adult for three or more days
$125/child 6-11 year olds; five and under free
Full hot lunch served around a fire for this option

Accommodation choices

Choice One: Stay with us at Agimac River Outfitters 18 miles north of Ignace. To find out what our cabins are like and what to bring, take a look at our Agimac River Outfitters website at www.agimacriveroutfitters.ca. on the Indian Lake Cabins page. We have large housekeeping cabins will full kitchen facilities. Each room is comfortably warm with hot water baseboard heat. Showers can be taken at the lodge and drinking/cooking water is provided for you. An outhouse is also situated near the cabin. This is for folks who enjoy the wilderness setting with a few less creature comforts.

Choice Two: The Northwoods Motor Inn in Ignace is located right on Hwy 17 and has Dining Room, Coffee Shop and Lounge facilities. Some of their rooms have microwave ovens. Their phone number is 807-934-2296.

Choice Three: The Trading Post Motel is also right on Hwy 17, across from the Northwoods Motor Inn. It has come under new management and has been completely renovated from inside out. You will find modern bathroom facilities, comfortable beds, new flat screen TV's, and in some rooms, small refrigerators and micro wave ovens. Their phone number is (807) 934-2386.

There are two grocery stores in Ignace, a Subway and three other restaurants operating during the winter months.

Airline Flights Available

From Toronto, Ontario, you can choose to fly with Porter Airlines, Air Canada/Jazz, or WestJet. From the United States, Delta Airlines flies to Thunder Bay from Minneapolis one daily scheduled flight. You can do a search on one of these airlines to find the best tickets for your trip. To find a car rental at the Thunder Bay airport, go to their website at www.tbairport.on.ca to the Travel Info page.

Directions from Thunder Bay Airport to Agimac River Outfitters

Leaving the Thunder Bay airport, travel left/north to Arthur Street. Turn left/west onto Arthur Street which is also Hwy 17/11. Stay on this Hwy till you come to a stop sign. Turn left continuing on Hwy 17/11. Stay on Hwy 17 to Ignace. It will be about a two and a half hour trip. You will come down a steep hill approaching Ignace and turn right on Hwy 599. Travel about 2 miles on Hwy 599, then turn left onto the 325 road. Agimac River Outfitters is 15 miles up the 325 road.

     We ask for a 50% deposit per person at the time of reservation. The balance is due before taking your trip. We accept all major credit cards.

Cancellation

     No refund of deposit will be given without written cancellation received 30 days prior to departure unless it is a verifiable emergency. A full refund will be given in the event we decide it is not safe to take the trip due to weather conditions.
